Joshua Fagan is a third year PhD student at Texas State University. He has both a masters and bachelors in mathematics education. Joshua is interested in how students learn to construct, comprehend and validate proofs and what/how they learn through proof as a curricular tool. He has also worked on research projects exploring (1) students’ cognitive processes in mathematical modeling tasks, and (2) the affects of professional development on teacher growth and student outcomes.
