All Texas State-San Marcos students must complete a mathematics course at the level of college algebra or higher. To satisfy this requirement, the Department of Mathematics offers a variety of courses including Math 1315, 1316, and 1319. These three courses require one of the following scores: at least 480 on the SAT, or at least 21 on the ACT, or at least 270 on the TASP, or at least 26 on the mathematics placement exam offered by University Testing Center. If this prerequisite is not met, students need to take Math 1311, and if needed Math 1300.

Please see the catalog description of the undergraduate courses.
